But we were -- during the summer of 1999 -- and we stayed in the "Driftwood" Condominiums on "The Point", an exclusive section of Newport overlooking Goat Island in Narragansett Bay.  Our temporary quarters were located right next door (and just north of) the Hunter House, which is on the National Registry of Historic Places. From its advertisement as a summer rental:  "It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This.  Pristine condo in Newport's Colonial Point Section will spoil you rotten.  Maxed out with amenities to do the dirty work so you can lounge on the wrap-around deck and enjoy panoramic views of Newport Harbor and Goat Island.

Our good friend Rick was born and raised near here, in Tiverton! His sister lives in the nearby town of Fall River, Massachusetts. And his wife Josie's sister lives there, too! (But not in the same house.)

Also our good friend Robin attended college in Providence!
